For both the AF hit on Sep 8/10, so $1000 together....ouch! The reason given was that I received a retention offer last year in Oct for both cards. I will call again next week and then on the 30th day.
Most likely, it will stay the same and I am likely to keep the Plat and ditch the Delta Reserve. Due to Amex technical issues, my Reserve companion cert has not be delivered yet. I am just hoping that the deliver it before I cancel.
I called again a couple weeks later. Same result, except no 10k offer on the Plat. I still kept the Plat since I do get benefits out of it. I downgraded the Delta Reserve to the new no-fee Delta Blue card. I am likely to upgrade back to Delta Plat or Reserve early next year to go for the MQM Boost.
Note: the Reserve companion cert did post before I made this call.
