Btw. This works only for the 777-300. The A380 has the "Premium Economy" as well but all the standard eco seats should still have the old System.
There is no way to guarantee it for sure, but you can have a pretty good idea by using flightradar / sqtalk.
For example, SQ237
https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/sq237 shows that "generally," 9V-SWE, SWI, SWV aircraft ply the route.
Then
http://www.sqtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13540 shows that:
SWI is the 2006 seat
SWV/SWE is the 2013 seat
More generally, I prefer a380's over b777's because I find the plane quieter and a tad bit more stable in flight.
