Agree, but IMHO a better wording would be "except that an origin-destination open jaw is permitted..."

All my leisure OneWorld Explorers have been full 16 segment itineraries; and only one ended at the original starting point.
This includes one that started in KRT and ended in DXB.
I never had any issues getting these ticketed, or when I subsequently made changes to them.
