I just had a 2 month back and forth with eclaims and AA.

I was in Toronto, trying to get back to Miami, through Charlotte. There were afternoon thunderstorms in CLT delaying the inbound flight to YYZ due to a ground stoppage. Since there was still inclement weather on the original planned route back to CLT from YYZ they modified the flight path and had to add more fuel. Missed my connection in CLT by 10 mins.

Had to get hotel, Uber (twice) and a couple meals.

File the claim without first reading the fine print under what was actually covered. The letter from the common carrier (AA) on the reason for delay said "fueling". Well "fueling" isn't covered so claim denied.

Long story short - I had to go back and forth with the AA rep three times via email plus two separate phone calls before he finally sent me a letter that had the words "inclement weather".

Once I got that, I sent in the appeal and the claim was approved about 20 days later. Just got the check yesterday.
