EF does allow you to search via (past) ticketing date, so they do have access to historical fare information. I don't know for sure if that's done via an interface into the GDS or if they simply store it nightly, but I'd wager it's the latter.
EF is a great aggregation browser for multiple GDS and award search websites. I don't think EF stores anything. Historical fares are available via GDS.@:-)
