Who knows, maybe my uncle just pays for the ticket behind her back though I know she's always on standby when we take her to the airport. IIRC the ticket does not give her lounge access either.

Ya, one or two free tickets in economy but most definitely not first(now business). They do offer discounted PE and Business tickets to immediate family members when booked by employees.
The ground staff are super gracious with employee travel and often upgrade when their is space.
