I was able to confirm a J upgrade so have decided to go with CX. DM benefits are great and I don't see myself traveling a lot of long haul next year so will be unlikely to renew in 2018. I may as well enjoy the FCL and occasional OpUps as a DM as I slog through Asia economy travel. Thanks to all for your advice!
