Thanks for replies, but I would encourage AS to allow use of the through fare where an overnight stay is involved, if it wants to retain this MPVG as a top-tier member. After all, the traveler is already being inconvenienced by an overnight stay, and is taking the next flight out.

AS tells me that the CO red-eye codeshare doesn't qualify for status miles in MVP.
