My experience at LAX has always been that the (AS) check-in lines are longer than the security lines. However, I haven't been to LAX since the start of the summer season.

The article at Alaskasworld.com seems to indicate that AS has, or will be soon, expanding its ticket counter space. This couldn't come a moment too soon, IMHO.
