Ideally you should keep NEXUS profile updated with most current passport information.
Generally speaking you should be ok. It would be useful if you provide details as to when do you intent to return from Canada, when do you depart to/from Europe.
AA/DL website list a conservative 6 months to avoid any possibility of trouble at check in but your passport need to be valid for only 3 months beyond the date you depart from Europe.
