I am aware that the expiry period is three years. But is one able to use it for flights that will occur after that period? I suspect yes, but want to be sure for planning purposes and peace of mind.

For example, booking round trip flights a week or two before the earliest expiring miles expire, resulting in an award round trip flight that could be as far as almost 4 years after the first miles-earning flight.
