dilemma (i think)

I am flying EK779 (CPT-DXB) next Tuesday in J with my partner who is also in J but she is on a different booking. I had the email alerts set for F availability and they have come through today on both bookings, we have enough miles to upgrade both of us however, I am worried that after i upgrade the one booking, that takes away the availability and i wont be able to upgrade the other?

can anybody advise in this situation please? My partner has never flown F before and would love us both to experience it (but she isnt flying there with me in J )
