For those of you who have registered and converted RC to Avios previously, I was actually able to call in just now and have them help me convert some additional RC to Avios over the phone just now in order to meet the 9/30 deadline. Used the Mandarin hotline, I was originally calling in to ask if the "deadline" was a postmark deadline, or if they had to process it by then in order for it to count for the bonus. She told me it was the latter unfortunately, but that since I had registered my BAEC account previously, they could help me do it over the phone to ensure that it would be processed before tomorrow's deadline. Not sure whether this means future transfers can also be done over the phone...

I'm not sure how their back office is run.
- Received a call form my RM saying that I did not specific how I wanted to deduct the mileage plan fee (I told him to tell them to look at the form and the telephone request!)
- Then received a call from the card services team saying they will process my mileageplan form, but my SQ number provided was wrong which was an issue flagged by my RM 2 days ago (why didn't they call me then?). But still does not excuse the fact that the BA Avios enrollment was not done prior + the slow processing time (the form was received by them on 14 Sep and proceed today 29 Sep it seems).
- I'm not sure how people get the BA Enrollment done on the spot! I called in Monday trying to get it enrolled on the spot and nothing has been done on that application yet (even when marked urgent).
They really are making me jump through many hoops for something so simple. Especially since Citibank is instant.
In any case, the trick probably is to enrol over the form, like 1 month in advance and hope they don't stuff up the application.
On a separate note - wonder if the 50% Avios bonus will come back in Dec...

Yeah my limit is only HK$30,000 so it's a little bit annoying especially warehousing those AAPL GC. But I don't AAVS on this though so that's fine... must say the Summer Cool program is quite generous!
