The infant is not issued a separate boarding pass, but a sticker is affixed to your boarding pass noting your infant as a lap child. This is mainly for headcount purposes. On a rare occassion, UA will print a boarding card for an infant and staple it to yours (I think they did it for us because they were out of the stickers).

UA will checkin psgr and notate your checkin record that you are traveling with an Infant. You do not need to give the airline adv notice on this. This is for US travel and the child is traveling on your lap. If done correctly the infant will have their own BP with no seat assignment.

If you want to buy a seat for the Infant.... call the res center. Do not wait until the day of dept to buy a seat.
