Not like the GUCs are useable given the lack of availability or unless you’re willing to fly standby and risk coach on long haul. Not worth it.
To date, I have ALWAYS been able to confirm GUC UGs in advance. Being that all of my travel is for pleasure, I'm usually EXTREMELY flexible.
