I guess the pillow kept in an overhead (every first-class passenger already had one of his or her own) does better service being stored than making someone ( a lowly PM MMer) comfortable.
Failing to see what your problem is? I frequently put the pillow up in the O/H bin for takeoff rather than on the floor if I don't plan to use it right away. How do you know the pillow you took didn't belong to a passenger who was doing the same thing?
