So how does the transit visa work? It says valid for 15 days from date of issue. If I apply today for a late-October trip, then will they refrain from issuing until mid October, or do I need to wait to apply?
Does this mean I'll need to travel to my closest Mission (2 hours away in San Francisco), at a day that THEY schedule? There's also no way I can do that given I'll only be in town for 2 days between early October and my trip.
Flying SQ Suites into India if that makes any kind of difference.
Help Appreciated.

Don't know anything about transit visas but generally Indian visas are valid from date of issue, not date of travel, so don't apply too early
