I would reach the same view as you at this stage. Thank you for coming up with that example. On the day of departure then the blocked seat may be given to an upgrade from CW, but that wouldn't be decided this far out. In First TS is a bit silly really. In fact it can also be a bit silly in CE too, for example of the CW A321 seats when used in Europe.
