Passengers pay a premium to travel in J, whether that means cash - redemption - or whatever. I don't care if J is "lower" than F, last thing I (and pax) need is extra disruption in the cabin when they are trying to get a couple hours of sleep in.
Different issue
Whether a passenger is
allowed to visit a lower cabin versus whether they
should visit a lower cabin. (Personally I agree with you, pax should stay within their cabins, (a) to minimise disruption and (b) lower cabins aren't some circus show for higher classes to make themselves feel good. There might be an exception in the case of IRROPS where a family is split up on the new flight.)
