Which Route Would You Take?
Hello fellow FTers, I have slight dilemma, and was hoping I'd get some opinions.
Basically, I'm planning a trip to the Maldives and have 2 potential routing options.
Route 1:
YVR-YYZ (AC J)
YYZ-EWR (AC J)
EWR-WAW (LO J)
WAW-CDG (LO J) (STOP)
CDG-IST (TK J)
IST-MLE (TK J) (DEST)
MLE-SIN (SQ Y)
SIN-BKK (SQ J)
BKK-KIX (TG F) (STOP)
KIX-ICN (OZ J)
ICN-LAX (OZ F)
LAX-YVR (AC J)
Route 2 (due to MPM limitations):
Revenue ticket YVR-YQR
YQR-YYZ (AC J/Y)
YYZ-ORD (AC J)
ORD-FRA (UA J)
FRA-CDG (LH J) (STOP)
CDG-MUC (LH J)
MUC-BKK (TG F)
BKK-CMB (TG J) (DEST)
Revenue ticket CMB-MLE-CMB
CMB-BKK (TG J)
BKK-KIX (TG F) (STOP)
KIX-ICN (OZ J)
ICN-LAX (OZ F)
LAX-YVR (AC J)
YVR-YQR (AC J/Y)

TLDR:
Option 1: Start from home (YVR) and end at destination (MLE)
Option 2: Rev tix from YVR-YQR and CMB-MLE, extra segment in F (MUC-BKK)
Having a slightly hard time deciding since this will be my first time in F, but at the same time, not sure if one extra segment in the pointy end of the plane is worth the cost of the 2 RT positioning flights, as well as the potential head-aches associated.
What are some of your thoughts?
