I don't believe that's the case because there are a different set of statutes that cover hotels. I suppose one might argue that a hotel room becomes a dwelling unit after a one month stay. That's when the tax rules change.
I actually did spend some time researching that post. I tried looking up the official definitions but didn't have much luck. Here's the online link to the FL Statues:

Given the importance of price gouging laws, the Attorney General of Florida should provide better information on her webpage. We shouldn't have to guess as to whether something like hotels or airfare are covered under the law.
