As per other suggestions - I would definitely look at rescheduling your flight.

There are some pretty long distances to walk in AMS from check-in-gates and vice-versa.

Last time we did this as a family (mid-Dec last year), we opted to arrive the day before - and were very glad we did. We ended up waiting 10 mins at passport control, followed by 25mins to collect our luggage.

The BA flights typically spit you out at Arrivals 1 / 2. Which means when you collect your bags, you need to walk right across Schipol Plaza and then up the escalator to Departures 3.

You then need to clear central departure security (can be a bit of a wait), followed by passport control. If the QR flight leaves from the F-pier, you are in luck - as this is the closest set of gates to security / passport control.

Good luck - but a rescheduling of your flight to build in some contingency seems a sensible idea.
