During the eclipse last month, our Friday flight on Delta was cancelled due to "bad weather" and the next available flight was a Sunday. We wanted to get there sooner than that, so we ended up renting a car and drove down to our destination. When the eclipse is over, we then flew back on our return portion of our ticket.
I filed a trip delay claim as our flight was delayed till Sunday, but we didn't take that flight. When I filed my claim, eclaimsline wanted a "copy of your updated itinerary or boarding pass showing the date and time of your rescheduled
trip."
Long story short, I called eclaimsline, who told me that they only wanted this proof to demonstrate that the delay is sufficiently long enough to warrant the claim.
Does anyone have experience obtaining this information from an airline before? It seems improbable that Delta would have any record of when the next available flight would be.
