A couple of months ago I was ticketed ADL-DOH-BEY in J/F and the ADL-DOH flight was a couple of hours late, thus causing me to miss my connection to BEY. I was met on arrival by a QR rep who told me they had booked me on the next flight to BEY in F.

Unfortunately this wasn't suitable as it would mean I would miss a connection (separate tix) in BEY to ATH, so I asked if they could change my destination to ATH on the next available flight.

I was taken to the al Safwa lounge and told they would see what could be done and let me know in due course. A few hours later the QR rep came to my sleep room and gave me a boarding pass to ATH in J.

I know they didn't have to do this, but it was a nice gesture and much appreciated. So, yes, it does happen, especially when QR delays have caused the problem.
