Please lets remember that there are clients who require that one purchase completely refundable tickets that they are paying for because they frequently cancel/change meetings at the last minute.
This has happened to me more than once after I cleared security or was in the club. It DOES happen in the real world. Six times a week, no. But several times a year is not out of the question.
I was in the LAX F lounge some years ago, and had to change plans last minute. Cancelled the ticket while in the lounge and the friendly agent came by later and said I wasn't on the flight anymore. I explained a colleague drew the short stick and I was off to JFK in business instead of [insert international destination]. She seemed satisfied and I was able to stay until departure.
I have purchased refundable tickets to get past security.
