My wife and I know California very well, and next year are planning on spending a few weeks touring in an RV with our 8 year old daughter. Initial thoughts are to head north out of LA, cover some of Highway 1, then head inland towards Mammoth / Yosemite, north to Tahoe then back west towards redwoods country, finishing up in San Francisco.
I would appreciate insights into the following:
- best rental companies to approach, and any to avoid
- thoughts on RV sizes for a family of 3
- thoughts on great campsites along the route - especially those with pools and kids facilities.
- any good resources to look at around campsite reviews etc
