Thanks for the replies - it was a last minute no show and was given to a non-rev. Right after the door was closed along with the gate agent.
I asked the non-rev for his name to see what his reaction would be, I'm sure this is not his first non-rev flight and almost every flight they are normally in Economy Comfort, definitely not first class.
And yes I am seriously considering switching, yes the convenience of non-stop flights and I should suck it up for the "2 1/2" hours isn't the issue. We are all entitled to our opinions but when a company doesn't value my business I will find one that does. None of the airlines are perfect and I realize that, many times I have lost upgrades but those are do to certs or something like that in which I have no problem at all.
Putting employees before loyal customers just does not seem right. Again I don't expect most or any of you to agree, I wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else with Delta.
