Indeed! Summer 2016 Master PtF (then 20) flew BA/AA J CDG LHR MIA MBJ and vv to visit a school friend. A 20 year old travelling alone to/from Jamaica, with an ESTA requested from CAI, threw US immigration into overdrive - my son was questioned for more than two hours at MIA before being allowed to continue his journey.

More of the same, albeit to a lesser extent, Summer 2017. Now 21 my son flew RJ/QR/AA J CAI AMM DOH MIA LAX and vv. US immigration in MIA were mightily interested to know why my son had visited three MENA capitals immediately prior to arriving in MIA - even wanting to know where he had had lunch during a nine hour AMM stopover.

My son actually enjoys the experience - after all, he has absolutely nothing to hide from US authorities. I'm not so sure I would be so laid back about it.
