I ticketed four separate award tickets in the last 3 weeks. Some I received email confirmations with ticket numbers and some not. Why this is baffles me.

I charged all the taxes to my citi exec card. This morning I was chasing a ticket number for a trip next week and looked at my credit card statement.

In each case the description read "American001214..." I compared the entire number to the tickets that I had numbers for and discovered in each case it was identical except that it had one additional digit on the end- some sort of check digit?. For the ticket number I needed I just went to the receipts page on AA.com and entered the number minus the last digit and was able to print my receipt.
