Got a nice guy on the retention line I think based in India from accent (but could easily have been in Florida office). He was very competent and quickly reviewed my profile and gave me two offers.
This was for my PRG I have had for 3 years and been with Amex since 2001. Dropped from $45k spending two years ago to $12 on that card. Was offered a $75 credit to retain. I asked about others and was offered a $75 dollar credit now and another $50 if I spent $500 in 90 days. I wanted a points offer but was told none were an option for me. A 20k bump would put me in for 2 F return tickets to Asia on NH so.
I accepted the $75+$50 (I will have $500+ hotel stays this weekend). I'd say the total call time was under 7 minutes with maybe 20 seconds on hold to get a rep. I'm not unhappy with that deal.
