I think most Gold and Platinum Rewards members know this. There are probably relatively few who are genuinely confused. But that doesn't mean they like this.
Forgive my obtuseness, it's been a few years since I was an unintentional Marriott Platinum. But this link doesn't answer my question. I'm considering a Marriott stay in Africa as a Gold member. This link only addresses US, Canada, and Europe. So I'm perplexed as to whether or not to expect free breakfast as a Gold at a Marriott in Africa.

Marriott's lack of uniformity across their untold number of brands was a frustration back then and continues now.
