Just back from a stay in the African Pride Melrose Arch. No experience with any of the other hotels in Jo'burg.

I mainly picked this one as it was in a nice and safe neighboorhoud. Now that I'm back I can confirm this, I think this must be the most expensive square km in Jo'burg. Sitting outside our hotel we saw 4 Porsches and 2 Bentley's in about 20 minutes time.
Later that evening somebody arrived in a Lamborghini and a BMW i8 was parked in front of the hotel.
So this is certainly not representative for Jo'burg but it's safe.

I liked how the rooms of the hotel are decorated. Staff were friendly and helpfull. There's a selection of restaurants within walking distance. (for small and big appetite)

Hotel hasn't got parking of it's own. You can park in a public parking underneath the hotel and choose to pay for your parking at the pay station in the parking (by the hour) or choose to pay in the hotel (flat fee).
