We often rent cars and I am the usually the driver. If I turn the car over to Mrs. michaelr (let's assume, I am in the car with her), and she gets into an accident. The rental contract has been clearly violated, however, she should still be protected by her own car insurance, no?
May be?! Why take the risk, let her register.

I know this story: Mr. X rented a car. They drove to Marco Island to see the CPA. On the way back (not registered) Mrs. X was driving the car back, made an accident, Mr. & Mrs. X had to pay End of story. May be they would have found somebody who would have paid ...Credit Card comp., own insurance ...
