I had an issue with my PEK-HKG flight last november (part of a BA F ticket LHR-PEK-HKG-LHR)
The PEK-HKG flight ( CX ticket op by KA) did not post so I claimed online after a month)
After another month I had not heard anything but you can check the status online and it said rejected. I sent a note asking for clarification but had not heard back and I forgot about it for a while.
After a few months I decided to chase it up with a email to customer relations together with a scanned copy of my boarding pass as there was about 7 weeks before the six month time limit expired ( plus I might have needed the tier points to retain gold)
A few days after that the points and avios posted.
