Having dealt with them, they are not really Travel Agents, they are booking agents, you really need to know what you want when you call them.
You must've had some really bad luck. The call center remains in North Dakota and most have been with the company for many, many years. I've booked oodles of packages through them over the years and have found that their agents are very knowledgeable, old school travel agents. If you're asking for advice on Koh Samui vs. Pulau Tioman, they might not be able to help you but if you're looking for recommendations on Mexican/Caribbean beach hot spots or where to stay in Waikiki they sure can.
