I have taken the Air China 748 in economy, and I would agee, if judging on seat pitch, legrooms and seat comfort, Air China Y seats are better than the UA Y seats on the 77W on a long haul flight. I cannot comment on IFE and food offerings, because it is a matter of personal preference.
