this is very odd. Have stayed at Sweni, Ebony, Sabora Tented Camp and Sasakwa without that experience. Staff is always friendly but unobtrusive. In fact we have had to ask if we can have a guide join us for brunch, etc. It wasn't offered up front. Staff at ebony did do a scotch tasting with my husband from his own private reserve but by and large minimal drinking seen by staff.

That experience sounds uncomfortable. We did feel somewhat smothered by staff at staff at happy hour before dinner at &beyond crater lodge. It seems that the guides have to attend each night which makes for a very long day for them.
