A 1 hour 30 min connection is pushing it so I would try to change it if at all possible if your booking isn't ticketed. If you can't change, as others have mentioned upthread the staff at the transfer desk will move you to a later BNE/SYD flight should you miss your original flight.
As per above posts even if they tag your bags NRT/xBNE/SYD there is still the requirement to collect bags on arrival in BNE as you must clear customs with your luggage which is the same scenario as when you arrive in the USA on an international flight connecting to a domestic one.
Passengers who check in overseas are frequently told they don't have to collect bags at the first entry point as airline staff wrongly assume if your bag is tagged NRT/xBNE/SYD the bag will arrive in SYD. Even cabin crew on your inbound flight sometimes get it wrong so the best people to ask are the airline ground staff on arrival.
On exiting customs turn right and you will see the domestic transfer desks at the far end of the terminal. When dropping off your bags your flight must be at least one hour away to give QF sufficient time to transfer your bag to the domestic terminal.
If your connecting domestic flight departure time is less than an hour away then you'll need to take your suitcase with you on the TBus to the domestic terminal. Once there you would need to drop your checked luggage off prior to the 30 minute cut off for baggage acceptance.
Once at the domestic terminal you'll need to drop your bag off at checkin counters 14 through to 19 or if there is a big queue seek assistance from the QF staff on the floor near the checkin kiosks. They can change the status of your bag tag from active back to inactive so you can send it down one of the auto bag drops 1 through 13.
