Many other threads on this, but I would recommend spending the day in the city and sleeping at the Sheraton Malpensa (inside the airport). There are great museums, restaurants, shopping and churches that are more than sufficient to fill a day and then take either a train/bus/taxi to the airport. The taxi is pretty expensive (95Euros) but bus and trains are cheaper and convenient.
