I called Amex today to inquire about two recent purchases that qualified for bonus MR points. I received emails confirming that I earned them. Usually once charge posts, the bonus shows up in two days at the most. CSR told me that I would indeed be receiving the bonus points. However, as of September 1st, they were told that Amex would be taking more time to make sure customers don't meet spend and then return the items, cancel the reservations, etc. They currently have a lot of that occurring. She said there have been some angry calls where people have Negative Points Balance because of doing this big time. She said if points don't show by month's end to then call back.
