I saw the thread, but it's stale and I don't resurrect.

What I didn't find in that thread, is how they "drain" them. Do you think they are simply guessing up a number, checking that it has balance, then selling it out from under the rightful holder?

There is no longer an online tool for checking balance. So they'd have to rather tediously get on the phone and talk to a rep now. I would think this would not be a sustainable operation due to the phone interaction.

Does anyone see a problem with my alternate scenario of "overselling" a GC that they originally purchased? I would think this would work. Although, any GC would be prone to this, so why focus on Hyatt?
