We also walked in the Silo and I was totally TOTALLY unimpressed. The lobby is super tiny right next to the elevator. The person at the front desk didn't even look at us or the guests who gained access and the doorman was just chatting with someone and also ignoring guests.

The only thing I would add to the excellent commentary above are villas in the Camps Bay or Clifton area. You can get a lot more size, and potentially much higher end furnishings, but if there are just two of you all the hotels would certainly suffice.
