Just flew ORD-SFO-TPE yesterday in business, back home now in Kaohsiung. I will say the highlight was the UA business lounge in ORD. A really great lounge, which if you route HKG-ORD-IAH , you can try. Has high end foods (both sit down and buffet) in the lounge, nice hotel like shower rooms, and single room bathrooms. The UA flight to TPE was on the new airplane (777-300) which was nice, and for me the food was good (I had fish which was better than EVA air fish). The other factor is preference for Asian or Western service, and language. EVA has still better service in business , but gap seems be getter smaller as I feel EVA service is not as good as before (and I feel not the best in Taiwan as CI has better service now), and UA is getting better in business. The SFO UA lounge is not good at all, but the business class lounge will open later this year (based on bartender at SFO lounge in OCT/NOV?) so I guess if its like the Chicago lounge it will be nice.
