I wrote to the management as well yesterday and was told the same. Four Seasons will be shut off as well. Andaz plans to open up another beach venue but it will be on the murky bay water, same as the the current hotel beach, which was closed for several days during our stay last January due to crocodiles. I told them they would be wasting their money.

In my opinion, the relatively small Preita Beach with its top notch amenities was one of the best beaches in the world and it was the reason we have returned to the Andaz. For me personally, the Andaz in no longer a beach venue. If one wants to use it as a base to explore the sights of Costa Rica or enjoy their pools and other facilities staying there will still be fine and great value for point redemption.

We'll spend a few days there but we'll spend more days in the funky surfer town of Tamarindo, which we truly enjoy.
