You should get a hotel on day layover. As to moving to an earlier flight, it's unlikely. You can ask at the transit desk in AMM 9 (which you 've got to visit anyway to get the hotel), no harm in this, but BKK staff definitely have no control over this.
Will be interesting to see what happens. Obviously no incremental cost to put us on an earlier flight if seats are available as compared to incremental cost of putting us in (two?) hotel rooms (we are 4). Some airlines would immediately get it and put us on the earlier flight. Others, don't seem to understand economics as well. First time on RJ so not sure what their attitude is.
