Yes it is wrong to assume that, AF/KL are very easy to deal with when it comes to claiming refunds, compensations, re-routes in case of IRROPS etc.

This is something I've encountered as well on a number of occasions. Interestingly, the "subscribe" button rarely seems to suffer from similar problems. From my experience though, in such cases customer service is quick to unsubscribe people manually when requested to do so.
I've tried their customer service who has proven to be more than useless and couldn't do anything to fix it, so I allowed gmail spam filter to do the work for me...
