They are not the only ones, over the years I have received e-mails from different hotel/airline/car rental agencies showing my account summary, even though it has been 0 for very long time.

Honestly it would probably take more effort to close my account than to just delete an e-mail once every few month and continue with my life, I will probably use some of these accounts again at some point.

I would hardly go out of my way to call this anything you describe here e.g. hostile, arrogant etc.
