You'll be fine. The prohibition against nesting tickets is in cases where you're nesting the SAME origin/destination cities, and either resulting in back-to-back ticketing, or otherwise circumventing some kind of fare rule.

Adding a side-trip in the middle of an existing itinerary isn't against any policies, and is perfectly legit.
