The last time I used the MH lounge about 2 months ago, they did not have any issue with me using it as a OW Emerald member with a QR J ticket.
I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I find the pro's of using the MH lounge is that at least on the F side, it is much less crowded compared to the OR lounge.
It is also a nice lounge to try out some Malaysian based food if you're tired of the food from the QR lounge/plane.
Service wise, I find the MH staff much more pleasant and they do have some cocktails too.
The view from the MH lounge is better as you're facing the runway (true for both F and J side of the lounge vs the QR lounge).
Only thing to remember is that if you are using the MH lounge just as they open, you might have to be a bit patient for them to finish the setup for the food options.
However if OP is stuck to use the ST lounge, this is certainly not a bad lounge - reasonable food and drink options.
