I vist this hotel on a regular basis and was there 1 week ago. Very good hotel with competent staff. The reason why they do not allow people under 18 years old in the lounge is because they provide free drinks during the evening and you pick yourself whatever you need, wine, beer etc...

The Quebec laws do not permit minors in there when they serve alcohol. About the breakfast I see no reason why children could not be accepted there. But on the other hand the lounge have quite a formal setting and may be they want to keep it that way. I am sure that your 16 years old son should be allowed in there after talking to the lounge concierge.

If you are upgraded on the executive floors ask for a room facing old Quebec and the River. The view is magnificent. If you have a confimed executive room you can proceed directly into the longe for check-in. If you get an upgrade they will re-direct you there.

For the French language don't worry,English and French are spoken everywhere in town. Quebec is a fantastic City, incredible dining experience for a fraction of the price you would pay in the US. Enjoy your Stay!
